Say, “Albay everything on the chalkboard menu, please.” lols

Albay has transformed itself to not just a culinary haven of local dishes, but an emerging food and beverage mecca. And to Albayanos, cafes are both a social butterfly’s sanctuary and a wanderer’s solace.
If you’re heading out to our province and in need of a coffee break, just out to meet your barkada, or about to pull off a scene straight out of an Olivia Lamasan film, here are our top café’s to be in:

528 Ilawod, 528 F.Lotivio, Ilawod, Daraga
True to its name, 528 Ilawod used to be a home and has since been transformed to a cozy nook hidden in Daraga. Best for date nights, it has comfy industrial inspired interiors to boot and unique wall murals. This café offers anything from a flat white to a green tea frappe. They also offer a variety of both Filipino and western dishes for when you get hungry after all that catching up. And I mean rice. And maybe a slab of ribs.

La Mia Tazza, Rizal Street, Legazpi City
One of the pioneers of the coffee scene in Albay, La Mia Tazza is perhaps iconic for its Pili Cappuccino, with each sip containing a bit of the nuts. Its ease of access makes it a popular hang out in Old Albay as it’s just on the main street. It’s also the biggest out of all the café’s with an outdoor area and a second floor.

Kaz Korean Dessert Café, 3F Ayala Malls Legazpi
If you’re heading to the mall and want to experience a hot, cold and sweet treat, head on over to Kaz Café for their addictive Bingsoo and coffee offerings. A perennial fave is the Mango Bingsoo that comes in a solo size and a large one for sharing. Latte’s and cold brew are also available. As we mentioned in this post (link to 500 peso date article) bingsoo with Oppa is a sure winner in our book.

Artisan’s Specialty Coffee, JNL Bldg. F Imperial, Bitano, Legazpi City
Millenials rejoice. Your IG feed is going to love this one. White on white on black, Artisan’s is minimalist inspired and millennial approved. Don’t just go there for the interiors though, they have a wide selection of good coffee, teas and waffles to make your day. Impress mo si crush by bringing her here and taking her IG story pouring coffee on ice cream.¬
